Today we visited the supermarket to read  the labels of different foods.

We have had Nova in our classes talking to us about Food for Thought. 

Buddy Class: Yucky Bugs

What a great afternoon with our buddy class..... First we watched a clip called Yucky Bugs

We went searching in the wilderness area for bugs! We then drew them.

Matariki

Our Inquiry this term is based around Matariki.  Our first part of our inquiry READY, which looks at:  
Introducing the Big Idea ~ "What is Matariki"
Knowledge attack ~ What do we know about Matariki?

Have a look at what knowledge we already have about Matariki.  What a fabulous start.  Your job tonight was to go home and ask someone what they know about Matariki. If they don't know much about Matariki, see if you can find out ONE thing that sparks an interest.

Buddy Class Week 8

During our buddy class session with Room 6, we went looking for bugs.  First we watched a video called 'Yucky Bugs' and then we had to find bugs in the wilderness area and draw what we could see and where we found them. It was lots of fun!

Science Experiment: Milk Swirls

Today we did an experiment called MILK SWIRLS.   Here are the instructions if you would like to do it at home. We had to guess what we thought might happen. 

• Pour the milk into the bowl.
• Place one drop of each of your colours into the milk, keep the drops close together.
• Add a drop of dishwashing liquid to the mix.
• Watch the colours swirl around.

Some of us made videos and have uploaded them to our blog.
